Grenier was born in 1976 in Santa Fe, New Mexico, but was raised in New York. After secondary school he went on to study molecular biology, but he soon realized his true calling was acting. He made his first appearance on film in 1997 when he played a role in Arresting Gena, an independent movie, then he appeared in Drive Me Crazy with Melissa Joan Hart in 1999 and in Harvard Man in 2001.
Entourage premiered in 2004, with Grenier in the role of Vincent Chase for eight highly successful seasons between 2004 and 2011, then again in 2015 in the film adaptation of the series.
